I built this area to display my HO scale steam locomotives. It is an ash pit servicing six engines on three tracks. Ash carts run in a tunnel under the tracks and lift the ashes into the red cinder-service cars using the conveyors. The area shown was part of a large engine terminal on a long gone layout.
