Photo of Black Jack GG1 in O-Gauge
Black Jack GG1 in O-Gauge

In 1977, Friends of the GG1 and Amtrak repainted a GG1 in the Pennsylvania RR dark green locomotive enamel and pin stripe scheme. Because of the very dark Brunswick Green, almost black, the nickname "Black Jack" was applied by some enthusiasts. K-Line made a model of the locomotive, seen here on the home layout.
Note: some say it is "BlackJack GG1" because 4+9+3+5= 21 or BLACKJACK!
